VINTAGE OBI, black silk kimono sash w/ exquisite landscape scenes, silver thread

Description

This exquisite piece, in the classic Nagoya Obi style (I believe), was probably designed to accompany a mourning kimono. The subtle patterns of embroidery in silver thread include a pin-stripe background, landscape scenes and shimmering sea scenes with several boats depicted.
Its dimensions are as follows:
Length 122.5" (length of unembroidered section 35.3")
Width: 5.8 inches (doubled); the undoubled end for tying the ornamental bow of the obi measures 11.4"
